Here is classic scenario / example that happens consistently - I am asked to quote on a particular flooring in the morning, I give the customer a price before I leave the site, explain how & why we would do the job in a particular way & promise to confirm the costing in writing within 24 hours. Within hours I have confirmed the price, secured product & put it on "hold" and have installers booked in for the customers preferred date just awaiting their confirmation. At this point the customer says "I am still waiting for another quote from dodgy bros carpets who said they would come last week. I do my best to juggle suppliers & layers without the necessary confirmation. Eventually we do the job & find out that our competition never got the quote done or sometimes never even turned up to do the initial measure. I have seen what goes on behind the scenes at some of these large "beautiful" stores & it is often a shambles. Ask yourself the obvious question - If the before sale service is so bad what can you expect after you have paid - if & when something goes wrong??? Recently I had some of my competition offering to either buy me out or close me down.
